Therapists in San Francisco

homepage-still-2.jpg

During this stressful time of COVID-19, we at Therapy Now SF are still actively seeing current clients and accepting new clients. Most of our sessions have moved to video or phone; however, we are now offering in person sessions, as of June 15th, 2021. We are committed to giving the utmost care during this stressful time. Please reach out if you need support.

People are much more resilient than we usually recognize. But when we encounter challenges and stress, we sometimes forget our strengths, lose touch with who we are, and even forget what it feels like to be happy, engaged, and in control.

As therapists, our job is to help you build up your resilience by tapping into your hidden strengths. We work collaboratively with you to create and hone new coping techniques and strategies. We know that being vulnerable and opening up is hard, so we work without judgement; assisting you in gaining clarity around your values and priorities. Together we will solve problems, set goals, and support you in staying accountable so that you can function at your highest potential.

Stress is ever present in all of our lives, however, there is a fine line between basic day-to-day stress and prolonged debilitating stress. Feeling chronically stressed will take a toll on our bodies, minds, and relationships, sometimes without us even realizing it. High stress that is long-lasting can also change the structure of our brain. Check out this quick video about how stress can impact the brain and check out our wellness articles section that will inspire you to start taking steps towards healthier living.

Dr. Andrea was very helpful, immediately found the right approach and helped me a lot to tackle my anxiety. I am very thankful for that.

What we do

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship Challenges

  • Lack of Motivation

  • Anger Issues

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Sexual Difficulties

  • Trauma

  • Depression

  • Social Anxiety

  • LGBTQ Identity

  • Panic Attacks

  • Life Transitions

  • Work Stress

We work primarily with professional adults in individual therapy and couples therapy. Most of our clients are successful career driven individuals who might have anxiety from their work, family, or relationship. Some report feeling down, having low energy, not sleeping well, or not being interested in things they used to enjoy. Anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation can be crippling, keeping someone from living as fulfilling a life as they want. And unresolved trauma and depression can slowly deteriorate our joy and ability to connect to others.

You may have tried different ways to cope with little success and come to realize it might be time for an outside professional to assist you in functioning at your highest potential.

FREQUENCY

The frequency of sessions can vary, but in the beginning, it is helpful to meet weekly to establish rapport and build a relationship with your therapist.

If you are wondering “How long will I need to be in therapy?” short-term work is considered to be between 8 and 12 sessions. We do have many long-term clients that we see every week or every few weeks, which can last as long as a year or two. This is for people who may have longer standing trauma or challenges, or for individuals that enjoy the therapeutic process and look at therapy as a form of self-discovery, self-care, and maintenance. Some people will also come in on an as-needed basis.

Therapy is personal and your therapist can help you decide how frequent sessions should be.

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

INSURANCE

We do not take any insurance, however we do provide a Superbill (billing statement) for your insurance. When speaking with your insurance company, you can explain that we are out-of-network providers and you can ask your insurance, “do you reimburse for an out-of-network provider?” If yes, “how much do you reimburse?”.

Most clients have a PPO plan that allows them to use out-of-network benefits. Many clients are reimbursed around 40-80% based on their PPO. It is recommended that you contact your insurance company directly to know the details of your plan.

We provide a monthly billing statement, also known as a Superbill, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

PRICING

Our therapists are at different levels of training and the licensure process. Therapists that are unlicensed are supervised weekly by a licensed Psychologist with many years of experience and training. We have interns, Post-Docs, and Licensed Clinicians. The benefit of having varying levels of experience is that we can offer our clients sliding scale prices. Sessions range from $100-$250 based on licensure status of the clinician.

We accept credit cards, checks, or cash. Payment is completed at the end of each session.

CANCELLATIONS

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. No shows or late cancellations will be charged the full session fee.
