MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST INTERN

I am an Iranian-American therapist and provide individual psychotherapy for adolescents and young adults primarily, as well as adults working through life transitions. I have experience working with the adolescent and young adult population within many different socio-cultural backgrounds. I have specifically worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, sibling and family conflict, balancing two cultures, and eating disorders. My approach in therapy is warm, empathetic, psychodynamic and relational. My intention as a therapist is to create space for clients to process their lived experiences and inner feelings in a nonjudgemental environment. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and the client builds the foundation that allows for the therapeutic work to happen.

I choose to integrate interventions from different theoretical approaches based on the individual needs of each client and the goals the client sets for themselves. I tend to take a strength based approach with my clients and work to support them in acknowledging their own strengths and in turn, strengthening their relationships with others.

On my free time, I really enjoy going on scenic drives, listen to true-crime podcasts, and sit near any body of water. I also spend some of my free time hosting a podcast with my brother about the experience of straddling two cultures and finding our identity.
