Healing happens when people are able to connect and be seen by another human being. I bring my full self to the work by providing empathy, humor, advocacy, attention to self care, directness, curiosity and authenticity. I work with adults of all racial backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations who are experiencing challenges with relationships, life transitions, work/life balance stressors, family stressors, menopause, sexual identity questions, sex and intimacy concerns, parenting concerns and anyone looking for help dealing with being human in this sometimes scary, overwhelming and exhausting world!
People do not live only in their internal world, and therefore it is important to look at the context in which we live, work, socialize and move through the external world to better understand our challenges and struggles. I work from a feminist perspective, which focuses on a person's strengths and resources, while looking at the socio-cultural environment and power dynamics that affect us all. I believe all humans can benefit from extra support. My role as therapist is to listen, validate, provide perspective, ask questions to bring awareness to areas of concerns and occasional reality checks. I draw from several theoretical orientations (Narrative, Psychodynamic, Systems and Sex Therapy) to fit the needs of each client. I also find dream interpretation particularly helpful in uncovering feelings, thoughts or aspects of the self that we are not yet fully aware of in waking life.

I believe it is important to find the right work life balance. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, as well as hunting for travel bargains to share with others. I like the creative expression of cooking and baking, especially creating or altering existing recipes to add my own twist. I enjoy connecting with loved ones over meals, board games and/or reality tv! I appreciate the serenity of walks among the redwoods and snuggles with my two older cats. I look forward to speaking with you to determine if I may be the right fit for your needs.
