Sutapa Dube, MD, Staff Psychiatrist

I have always been interested in the interplay between our minds, our bodies, and our surroundings.  That interest has led me on all sorts of adventures in learning how we evolve into such unique individuals.  Medical school was my goal since kindergarten – it’s true!  Psychiatry and the bio-psycho-social approach, which takes into account every aspect of an individual’s life, is the field of medicine that makes the most sense to me.

As an integrative psychiatrist I am open to both traditional approaches and complementary/alternative approaches to wholeness and healing.  I do not practice one method versus another, instead, I take advantage of various approaches and techniques to provide a tailored treatment plan for each individual to whom I am privileged to provide care.

I am a lifelong learner and I am a perpetual student.  I have trained in Adult Psychiatry, and completed specialized Fellowships in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Integrative Psychiatry, and Mind Body Medicine.  I am familiar with most psychotherapeutic models, and trained in Supportive, Cognitive Behavioral, and Psychodynamic therapies in addition to Accelerated Resolution Therapy.  Currently I am pursuing further learning in the form of a PhD in Sexology.

I have had the pleasure of working in a variety of different environments: academic, private practice, community psychiatry, and in the behavioral health insurance world.   Generally, my patients describe me as warm, easy going, and knowledgeable, though at the same time, my current patients will tell you that I do not shy away from difficult topics and questions.  I am a patient centered, body positive, sex positive physician, and love working with individuals from all different backgrounds and cultures.

The most consistent aspect of my practice is connection.  I’m looking forward to truly connecting with you and getting to know who you are as a person, as well as what you need for further growth and to become “unstuck.”

My goal is to offer you options for traditional and complementary tools to reach your potential and live your best life.  I work best in collaboration with my patients, offering support and well thought out choices tailored to your individual needs.  Together, I hope we can connect and create a guide to help you navigate the way to healing.
